Each year the Army Corps of Engineers spends millions of dollars to protect threatened and endangered (T&E) species. Since 2005 USACE has utilized an online platform to conduct a quality data call to meet the Endangered Species Act (ESA) required annual reporting of all T&E species costs incurred by federal agencies. Additionally, USACE can utilize these data for budget planning; to inform strategic, corporate approaches to manage species; and to inform basic Threatened and Endangered Species cost questions across the Corps. The following graphs total TES expenditures in millions of dollars over the past 19 years.
